After reading the 4 hour work week, I decided to put one of the suggestions to practical use. If you are going to work, work where you want to. So here is my experiment.
I want to work for two weeks in Costa Rica. I know I have an advantage as my parents are down there, but I never actually worked down there.
Steps

get approval from Dell to work remote

Get laptop and calling card in working order.

Try to get Cell phone service while travelling.

find a suitable place to work in Costa Rica

Use this as a test case for future work.

Document the experience.
